They tell you that with a dedicated macrolens you can get a magnification of 1:1. What they don’t tell you is that in order to achieve that you have to stick the front of your lens almost up the nose of the bug you are trying to portrait. Most insects don’t like that.
But this weekend I was lucky. I found a butterfly that was so tired, drunk, hangover or whatever that I could do anything I liked.
Never noticed before that these creatures were having hairy eyeballs 😉
