I have never been one to settle down anywhere for long. That goes for my weblogs too. I moved my blog before and I am doing it again. Though I quite liked my blog here at WordPress, I have been trying out a new blog at Aminus3.com and liked it enough to want to stay there. I have considered keeping both blogs running but I don’t think that will work. So I decided to stop posting here at least for the time being. Of course I hope you all will come and visit my new blog: Stephany.aminus3.com. I will continue to participate in the sunday stills challenges whenever there is a subject that appeals to me.

Today I got lucky. A sparrowhawk landed in the bushes in the neighbours garden, waited for me to go and get my camera, attach the right lens etc. and only flew away after I had taken a few shots. How about that!

Suddenly our country is awash with fieldfares. In normal winters you only see a few of these birds, but in a very cold winter like this one they come in droves searching for food like the apples we feed them.

I said I would be back as soon as spring announces itself. Well you have to look long and hard, or rather, you have to look very long and very hard for signs of spring and still you won’t find any. Unless, that is, when you watch the birds. They are already busy inspecting suitable property for raising their family coming spring. The winter has become official today, although we have been up to our necks in snow already with temperatures upto -15°C. High time for me to take my traditional winterbreak from blogging. I know you can take awsome pictures at this kind of year, but I am just not that kind of person. When it is this cold I rather stay near the fire with a hot drink. So I wish you all a Merry Chrismas and a very happy and prosperous new year and you will hear from me again as soon as spring announces itself.

Mice or mouse

There were signs of mice in our shed so we set a trap in which we now find a cute little mouse every morning and every morning we set him free somewhere outside the garden. So little by little the suspicion is growing that we catch the very same mouse every night. Of course they look very much alike all of them but I would not be amazed if this clever little being is willing to sacrifice a few hours of his freedom on a regular basis in exchange for a nice fat chunk of cheese.
